My Portfolio

Welcome to my portfolio. Here you’ll find a selection of my work. Explore my projects to learn more about what I do.

I am Ula Gillion. Physiotherapist. Student of healing. Exploring movement, neuroscience, trauma and the body's capacity to adapt. I have been in private practice for more than 30 years when in 2025 I had a significant fall and fractured a vertebra in my lower back.

In the months that followed, my walking began to change in unexpected ways. What started as a physical injury gradually became a much deeper exploration of movement, nervous system function, adaptation, and healing. This brought me to Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), a condition that sits at the fascinating intersection of brain, body, perception, movement and lived experience.

This is where I share my journey. It has brought me to the deeper understanding that healing often begins when we learn to reconnect with ourselves (mind, body, nervous system, all that is us)  in kind and compassionate ways.

My intention here is not to provide medical advice or definitive answers, but rather to document what I am learning as my walking continues to evolve. I hope these reflections may offer insight, encouragement and perhaps a sense of companionship to others navigating their own healing journeys.
